In Bushenyi.
The Kyamuhunga town council district councilor Hon. Rosemary Fangure has warned family members to avoid Gender Based Violence (GBV) in their homes in order to bring up peaceful and responsible children for a better Uganda
Fangure said this yesterday 08th Oct.2019 evening during a dialogue organized by Reproductive Health Uganda under the project Prevention + held at Kyamuhunga town council head quarters in Bushenyi district.
Hon. Fangure analysed a play with residents presented by Bwera women in Kyeizooba Sub county Bushenyi district where a man got a panga threatening the wife and sold off the family land without consulting the family.
Fangure warned men against selling land without consulting wives and children adding that sometimes it is necessary to sell part of the land to raise fees.
She noted that a man should not sell family land to marry another wife or drink alcohol.
She warned men and women to avoid Gender Based Violence as it leads to children growing up like animals.
Fangure advised newly married couples to keep the love they always have when they are getting married.
Reproductive Health Uganda Bushenyi branch under its project Prevention + has been sensitizing men, women and children to avoid Gender Based Violence.
According to research done by www.mknewslink.com staff on the success of the project, the results are amazing because the project has changed the mindset of men and women on Gender Based Violence in Bushenyi.
