Unidentified people in Nyamweru Sub Country have rubbed off words which were written on Nyamweru Secondary School Multi-purpose hall to show the contribution raised by the Rubanda East Member of Parliament Henry Musasizi Ariganyira towards the construction of the hall.
According to the School Head teacher Medard Turanyomwe, the Executive of Parents Teachers Association[PTA] last term sat and decided to write words quoted” This Multi-purpose hall was constructed with support from Hon Musasizi” in order to show that they appreciate the great work done by the Member of Parliament.
The School head teacher however told our reporter that over the weekend, people who are not yet known, came with mortar and smeared off the words which were written on the hall.
He revealed that Henry Musasizi supported the School with 100 bags of cement worth 3 million, 100 iron sheets and a cash support of 2 million Uganda shillings to do the flooring and had promised to do the finishing then provide windows and doors
He added that parents only contributed bricks worth 2 million, 300 timbers for roofing, iron bars worth 1 million and 4 million to pay for labor and other requirements.
Turanyomwe said that they are investigating to discover whoever could have done it without their consent
The Chairman board of governors Julius Mujuni blamed the School head teacher for failing to consult the board on which words to write on the School Multi-purpose hall than making a mistake of naming the School hall by Hon Henry Musasizi.
The Chairman of Parents Teachers Association[PTA] Enock Gabosya declined that the words which were written acted as a foundation stone for Henry Musasizi saying that they could not lay a foundation stone on the building without the consent of the Bishop of Kigezi Diocese Rt Rev Eng George Bagamuhunda since the school is church founded.
When contacted, Henry Musasizi expressed disappointment on grounds that developmental projects in the district are being mixed up with religious matters which he said that it cannot foster development in the community. He said that since they turned out to deny his support, he will continue to support those who still need help and development.
It should be noted that Musasizi and the Nyamweru LC III chairperson David Karidugu Twinobusingye had reportedly petitioned the public procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Authority -PPDA and Education ministry demanding to shift the project to Ruhija sub county in Rubanda west constituency saying that the construction of Nyamweru seed secondary school worth 2.1 billion which is currently ongoing would not be successful since the school was on a piece of land belonging to Kigezi diocese.
The petition angered parents who accused Musasizi and Karindugu for sabotaging the project.
