The Bishop of West Ankole Diocese Rt. Rev. Johnson Twinomujuni has warned women to stop beating and bewitching their husbands in order to bring harmony and development in their society.
He said this yesterday at the burial of the late MzeeEliyazali Rwakifene in Kyabandara in Sheema district.
Bishop Johnson noted that men were the only ones who used to beat their wives but now some women have also copied from men and they are beating their husbands.
He gave an example of a person who was passing by a home and found a woman beating her husband asking him if he would ever again call her a mere woman.
He added that some important and wise men have been made stupid and useless by women who bewitch them.
Mzee Rwakifene died at the age of 85 and has been battling prostate cancer and the bishop thanked the children especially Jonas Tumwine the managing director of BFM radio for looking after their father well unlike other children who ignore their parents after educating them and getting good jobs.
Sheema district chairman Can. David Kabigumira hailed Mzee Rwakifene for supporting health, education and church in the district.
He urged other young and old people to ensure that they leave a legacy behind like what Mzee has left which has translated into a successful story.
