In Kabale
Information obtained from Kamukira health centre IV found in Southern division Kabale municipality shows that the health facility ran out of stock of essential drugs since last month.
A source at the health facility told www.mknewslink.com  on condition of anonymity that the last delivery of drugs to the facility was made in October.
Dr. Moses Agaba, the hospital store keeper confirmed the drug stock outs.
He said that they currently lack anti malarial drugs, anti biotics, fluids and other medical supplies likes gloves to some extent.
Agaba blamed the crisis on the huge number of patients the facility attends to.
According to Agaba, the health facility serves patients from 16 villages with a population of over four hundred people.
www.mknewslink.com could not get a comment from Paddy Mwesigye, the health centre in-charge because his known phone numbers couldn’t pass through.
www.mknewslink.com visited the health centre dispensary on Tuesday and saw several patients in need of drugs being turned away. Only those who needed basic drugs like Flagyl would be attended to.
However, the Kabale district health officer Alfred Besigensi confirmed the drug shortage in all government hospitals within the district.
He cited the matter as a delay from national drug stores which supplies medicines to all hospitals in Uganda but promised that the situation would be sorted not later than Friday this week.
