STORM UPROOTS CROPS , DESTROYS 10 HOMES IN IBANDA

At least 10 families in Kihani village in Kikyenkye sub county, Ibanda district on Friday night were left homes and prone to famine after a strong storm characterized by winds destroyed gardens and houses.
The minister for Karamoja affairs who is the Member of Parliament for Ibanda south, Eng. John Byabagambi,said the storm has caused havoc and regretted the incident that left many homeless and on hunger.
“It is unfortunate that during this Covid 19 pandemic,yet another calamity befell Ibanda where by about 10 houses were been blown off by winds in a strong storm and two of them were totally blown to ground,” Byabagambi regretted.
Pius Mukundane, one of the residents told www.mknewslink.com reporter that he , his six children, and wife currently sleep in the kitchen with goats, hens after their main house was blown off by wind.
“We are surviving by God’s mercy” Mukundane told this reporter.
Fortunately, no death cases were registered.
