The Bishop of West Ankole diocese Rt. Rev. Johnson Twinomujuni has revealed that the resignation of Ankole Western University Vice chancellor was purely personal, not at all connected to the problems of the university.
The Bishop said this last evening in an exclusive telephone interview with www.mknewslink.com on the status of the university after the resignation of the vice chancellor.
Rev. Can. Dr. Wilberforce Kamukama the Vice chancellor for Ankole Western University resigned last week without giving any reason and Rev. Edidah Mujinya was appointed to be the acting Vice chancellor.
Bishop Johnson is the chancellor of the university and heads the foundation body which is West Ankole diocese.
The resignation of Rev. Can. Kamukama follows another resignation of Prof. Mesarch Katusiime who served for a short time before resigning two and a half years ago.
According to Mesarch, he resigned because of political interference in the matters of the university by Minister Elioda and other politicians.
A meeting chaired by West Ankole diocesan secretary Rev. Can. Didas Natweta converged to forge a way forward after the resignation of Rev. Kamukama and www.mknewslink.com will bring you the details of the meeting shortly.
