THREE CHILDREN ARRESTED OVER FATHER’S MYSTERIOUS DEATH IN RUKUNGIRI

Police in Rukungiri have in their custody 3 children arrested in connection to the mysterious death of their father.

Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate has confirmed that the 3 children include two boys and one girl.

Maate identified the deceased as 50-year-old Charles Mugisha, a resident of Rugasha village, in Kahoko Parish in Nyakishenyi Sub County in Rukungiri District.

It’s reported that the deceased was last seen alive on Sunday 12th July 2020, and that he spent the whole of Monday sleeping in his house.

Maate told our reporter that yesterday evening, his daughter identified as Kyarikunda Prita took food to her father whom she found still sleeping and later in the night, the deceased is reported to have made an alarm that threatened the daughter who ran outside the house and slept in the kitchen.

“It was today July 14th 2020 morning that one of the deceased’s son identified as Turyamushanga Paul went to check in the house where his father slept and found him dead,” Maate explained.

Maate said that, when Turyamushanga informed his relatives, they called in the Police who took the body to Kisizi Hospital for a post mortem report to be carried out.

Maate said that the case of suspected murder was however registered at Rukungiri Central Police Station under reference number CRB 1303/2020 to help in investigations.
