KABALE: FORMER KIGONGI WARD LCII CHAIRPERSON SUCCUMBS TO WASP STINGS

The former LCII Chairperson for Kigongi ward in Central division Kabale municipality has been killed by wasps.
According to his brother in law Robert Byamugisha Kakutu, who is the Executive Director of Kick Corruption Out of Uganda the deceased Raphael Rwendeire was stung by wasps as he was renovating his mother’s house in Kigarama cell.
Byamugisha noted that Rwendeire later developed fever yesterday morning and died instantly from his ancestral home in Kigarama cell Maziba Sub County Kabale district as they prepared to take him to the hospital for treatment.
Rwendeire served as the Kigongi ward Chairperson from 1986 to 2001. By the time of his death, he was serving as the Chairman School Management Committee of Butobere Primary School in Butobere Kabale municipality.
Rwendeire is survived by a wife Rose Rwendeire and five Children, three girls and two boys.
Kellen Bararemwa the current Kigongi ward Chairperson who succeeded Rwendeire described him as a principled, incorruptible, dedicated and peace-loving leader who worked selflessly for the development of Kigongi ward.
By press time, his real age had not been identified and family members were yet to communicate on when and where to bury him.
