RUBANDA EAST MP MUSASIZI ACCUSES DISTRICT CHAIRMAN BIRYABAREMA FOR DEFACING CAMPAIGN POSTERS, REPORTS TO POLICE

The Rubanda East Member of Parliament Henry Musasizi has reportedly dragged his main challenger also the Rubanda District Chairperson Jogo Kenneth Biryabarema to Police accusing him and his agents of vandalizing his campaign posters.
Musasizi who is serving his second term in Parliament is facing stiff competition from the Rubanda district boss Biryabarema who is hopeful to unseat him for the Rubanda East Member of Parliament position.
Musasizi claims that Jogo organised a group of people who he described as “Hooligans” to move around the whole constituency defacing his posters.
Musasizi said that all his posters especially in Ihanga and in Hamuhambo Trading Center in Kagarama in Bubare Sub County have been defaced allegedly by Jogo and his agents.
He also without giving examples noted that Jogo’s agents have on several occasions intimidated his supporters.
Musasizi told our reporter that he had dragged his opponent to Police in the district asking them to intervene and apprehend all those suspects defacing his posters.
Musasizi further said that if Police fails to apprehend the suspects, he is also ready together with his camp, to pay back to Jogo in any possible ways.
When our reporter contacted Biryabarema about the matter, he said that the claims by Musasizi are false and only intended at creating sympathy votes to the legislator.
Biryabarema added that he is ready to make a statement at Police once he is summoned. He instead called for harmony among the voters in the constituency.
The Rubanda District Police Commander Tai Mahnfuzi Ramadhan however is yet to comment on the matter but said that Police will not accept to be involved in political fights.
