MBARARA NRM REGISTRAR ALMOST LYNCHED OVER RESULT ALTERATION, POLICE INTERVENE WITH TEARGAS

Police in Mbarara have today morning fired teargas to disperse violent supporters of Saidi Byandara an aspiring councilor LC IV Mbarara city south to stop them from accessing the NRM offices.
Byandara Saidi and his supporters were making procession to Mbarara city NRM offices when they were blocked at Rwampara suites.
Police had earlier fired bullets in the air to disperse the said supporters at Kisenyi B polling station but refused to leave which prompted them to use teargas
Trouble started after supporters of Saidi Byandara accused Richard Muhwezi his opponent of conniving with police and registrar to destabilize voting.
According to Byandara, he wanted to get the core reason as to why he was not declared a winner when he had won the election.
Mbarara mayoral division and division councilors’ elections were marred with violence after several polling stations failed to conduct voting.
Voting was cancelled at Polling stations like Kiswahi , Kisenyi B after the voters turned violent
In Lugazi cell Mbarara city South, an NRM registrar was nearly lynched by angry mob after he tried to alternate the results of the area election.
