20 YEAR OLD MAN ARRESTED FOR MURDERING HIS MOTHER

Police in Rukungiri are holding a 20 year old man for allegedly murdering his mother.

According to the Kigezi region police spokesperson Elly Matte , on  Monday 21/9/2020 at about 2300hrs, the suspect  Byampire Victor a casual worker, returned home while drunk, attacked the mother Asimwe Maria demanding her to produce  money worth  seventeen thousand shillings she sold from poles of the demolished latrine. 

The deceased declined to produce it and promised to comply at a later date. 

Matte adds that the suspect immediately charged and assaulted her mother severely using a stick, left her in critical condition and she died shortly at home. 

The case was reported to the LCI chairperson of the area who in turn reported to Buhunga police and Rukungiri CPS responded and did a postmortem.

The suspect was hunted for and he is now being detained at Rukungiri Central Police Station.

The case was registered at Rukungiri Central police station under reference number CRB 1768/2020.
