AVOID VIOLENCE DURING ELECTIONS —SHEIKH SSEMAMBO WARNS MUSLIMS

The Deputy Mufti of Uganda His Eminence Sheikh Abdullah Ssemambo has called on Muslims to ensure that they participate in elective political positions and also pray for peace in the forthcoming 2021 general elections.
The deputy Mufti says as Muslims they must respect laws governing the country and avoid participating in violent acts that would lead to bloodshed during elections.
He also called on Muslims to ensure that they promote Islam by putting up Mosques and education Institutions that can help transform their people in different areas.
He was unveiling the newly appointed district Khadhi for Kibaale Sheikh Muhamad Isingoma at Mabaale Mosque in Mabaale Town Council Kagadi District as well as visiting the embattled Bunyoro-Tooro regional Khadhi Sheikh Mohammed Irumba.
The deputy Mufti was accompanied by Sheikh Yahaya Ibrahim Kakungulu the Director Sharia Uganda Muslim Supreme Council and Sheikh Imlan Ssali the secretary for religious affairs Uganda Muslim Supreme Council.
Both leaders called on Muslims to ensure that they respect their religious leaders.
Dr. Sheikh Muhammed Irumba the Bunyoro-Tooro Regional Khadhi told our reporter that the Deputy Mufti came to see how the region can be developed.
