MBARARA: 14 SCHOOLS BLOCKED FROM REOPENING OVER LACK OF REQUIRED NECESSITIES

Mbarara district LCV chairman JB Tumusime who doubles as the vice chairman Mbarara task force has warned school authorities on ensuring total observance of SOPs in the fight against COVID 19
Educational institutions reopened for candidates and finalists on Oct, 15th, 2020 which has prompted authorities to keep a Keen eye on them for proper implementation of SOPs like hand washing, sanitizing, and having temperature guns among others.
Tumusiime noted that in Mbarara district 14 schools (not disclosed) failed to reopen because of lack of necessities and failure to meet SOPs set by the ministry of education and sports plus health ministry.
He added that they are guiding the schools before allowing them to open.
Each student will receive a mask from government and every government aided school was allocated shs 1.5 million to purchase necessities in fighting COVID 19.
Meanwhile, Mbarara regional referral hospital currently has 9 active COVID 19 cases and 12 doctors are being tested after rumors that they were positive.
