Mota engil a Portuguese company has successfully completed 2 road projects; 58 kms from Katunguru to Ishaka and 2.6kms from Katungu to west Ankole diocese headquarters in Bweranyangi.
According to Mota Engil assistant project manager Kenneth Karuhanga , the project of Katunguru Ishaka had challenges in that the road had worn out on both sides but they worked on it and finished very well.
He added that it is now fully passable by all motorists and therefore urged the public to use the road carefully for business, tourism among others.
The former minister of general duties in the office of the Prime Minister Prof. Tarsis Kabwegyere who was also passing through the road told www.mknewslink.com that the road is fully done adding that tour operators should bring in more tourists to Queen Elizabeth national park, Kazinga Channel, Lakes Edward and George.
Amon Bwambale a fish monger at Kazinga Channel noted that their fish business had gone down because of the poor road but thanks to the government they now sell their fish in time since the road was constructed.
At Bururuma road side market in Rubirizi district, Mubarak Kasozi the chairman of traders hailed the government and Mota Engil for expanding their parking adding that before, yellow banana traders would be knocked by vehicles.
Johnson Ruhuriza the chairman of drivers for Butare, Bunyaruguru and Kyamuhunga told www.mknewslink.com that though the road is good, it has been installed with many humps which make their journeys slow in addition to vehicles consuming a lot of fuel.
Rt. Rev. Johnson Twinomujuni the Bishop of West Ankole hailed Mota Engil for doing a good job on Bweranyangi road and on time.
He also hailed President Yoweri Museveni for fulfilling the pledge of constructing a road which he made during his consecration on 28th May 2017.
