MBARARA: YOUTH MP ELECTIONS DELAY AS NRM’S RUGUMAYO IS ACCUSED OF CAMPAIGNING ON VOTING DAY

Supporters of candidates contesting for western Uganda Youth Member of Parliament seat have accused NRM’s Edson Rugumayo of holding campaign meetings at Mwengura suites in Mbarara city beyond campaign period.
The voting process which was supposed to start at exactly 07:00 am and close at 04:00 pm has not kicked off up to now due to undisclosed reasons by Electoral commission.
2,049 delegates from 38 districts of western Uganda have today converged at Ntare School in Mbarara to vote for their desired candidate.
Western Uganda Youth MP seat has attracted six candidates including NRM’s Edson Rugumayo, Independent candidate Arnold Turwomwe Spencer who contested in NRM parliamentary primaries for Ishaka-Bushenyi Municipality but lost to Derrick Kabura hence being nominated for western Uganda MP seat, Edwin Muramuzi Independent, Kamukama James of NUP, Adios Beinomugisha Denmark of FDC, and Kato Paul independent candidate.
