BISHOP SHELDON TAKES COVID 19 JAB, WARNS UGANDANS AGAINST POLITICIZING VACCINATION

The Bishop of Ankole Diocese Rt. Rev. Sheldon Mwesigwa has warned Ugandans to stop politicizing COVID19 vaccination program.
He advised that they should also disregard all the rumors on social media that the vaccine will pose health dangers to their bodies.
The Bishop said this today 29th March 2021 while speaking to journalists after taking his first jab of Astra Zeneca COVID 19 vaccine.
The Bishop who led a group of 15 other clergy received his Covid 19 shot at Mbarara Regional Referral hospital in Mbarara city.
“I have just taken Covid 19 jab and I urge everybody who is above 50 years, with underlying causes to come and receive this covid 19 jab.
Am one of those who did not believe in the vaccination at first until I read and realized its importance,” The Bishop noted.
He called upon Ugandans to put their lives first instead of focusing on European countries that have of recent suspended the vaccine.
Speaking to Journalists today, the hospital director Dr. Celestine Barigye noted that 855 people including Frontline health workers, Security operatives and religious leaders have so far received the covid 19 jab from the hospital.
He revealed that Mbarara regional referral hospital vaccination Centre will soon run out of the doses since each Centre received only 1000 doses.
