SECURITY GUARDS ARRESTED FOR SHOOTING KIGEZI HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT

In Kabale—–
Police in Kabale have in custody three employees of SWAT Security Company who allegedly shot and injured a student at Kigezi high school.
The three are; Moses Murengezi 23 years, Mathew Akatuhurira 28 and Sulaiman Baryanazigu 24.
The injured student is Bright Akatukunda 19 years of senior five who was shot in both legs and is now admitted at Kabale referral hospital.
According to Kigezi region police spokesperson Elly matte the incident happened on the 22/04/2021 at around 2100hrs when students of senior six went wild against the security guards that were forcing them out of their dormitories for night classes.
Maate said that in the process, the students badly assaulted one of the security guards Sirivano Bakawerayo who was off duty in his place of residence in the school quarters and he is also admitted at Kabale referral hospital.
The police were immediately deployed to secure the school as the guards were arrested to help in investigations.
The PRO told www.mknewslink.com that inquiries are underway and grievous harm case was registered at Kabale police station under file number CRB 348/2021.
