TIGHT RACE BETWEEN KADAGA, OULANYAH: VOTING UNDER WAY

Voting for the 11th parliamentary speaker is under way at Kololo ceremonial grounds as Jacob Oulanyah, NRM flag bearer tussles it with independent Rebecca Kadaga.
Incumbent Kadaga has been a speaker for Uganda’s parliament for ten years and more ten as deputy speaker.
Central executive committee [CEC] and National executive committee [NEC] Voted Oulanyah as a flag bearer leaving Kadaga with only one option to run as an independent candidate which she has done.
Voting is being presided over by Uganda’s chief justice Owiny dollo.
President Yoweri Museveni is in attendance and is keenly watching as MPs of the 11th parliament vote.
Results are expected later today evening when the winner will be announced and immediately sworn in by the presiding chief justice.
