RUKUNGIRI: PASTOR, 15 FOLLOWERS ARRESTED FOR ATTENDING CHURCH AMIDST COVID 19

Police in Rukungiri are holding a pastor and his 15 followers after they were yesterday found attending a Church service in disregard to the Presidential directives on COVID-19.
The lead suspect pastor Herbert Byabagye is the leader of Worship Healing Church found in Rushoroza Village, Nyakinengo Parish in Nyakagyeme Sub County Rukungiri District.
The pastor and his followers were arrested in an operation led by the GISO plus the area Police and were first detained at Nyakagyeme Sub County police post before they were transferred to Rukungiri central police station.
Fatuma Kamanzi the Nyakagyeme Sub County chief told www.mknewslink.com that they won’t seat and look on as Ugandans flout the presidential guidelines aimed at saving their lives from the novel COVID-19.
Kamanzi added that the suspects will be punished so that they serve as an example to other members of the community who could be having such habit.
In Rukungiri district 91 people have already tested positive to COVID 19.
