RUKUNGIRI DISTRICT COUNCILLOR BEATS SON TO DEATH OVER NEIGHBOUR’S UGX 4000

Police in Rukungiri are holding a 65 year old district councilor who allegedly killed his biological son over neighbor’s shs 4000.

The suspect Evart John Magara is the Rukungiri district male workers councilor and a resident of Maaya Cell, Kitimba ward, Western Division in Rukungiri Municipality.

Elly Maate, the Kigezi Regional police Spokesperson told www.mknewslink.com that John Magara allegedly killed his son Nuwagaba Everdi alias Rwamutwe male adult aged 32 yrs a farmer resident of the same area.

Maate narrated that one of the residents identified as Onesmus Turyazayo gave shs 5000 to Rwamutwe so that he could deduct his shs1000 and return the balance but the deceased did not come back.

Turyazayo later reported the matter to the father who started to hunt for Rwamutwe until they found him at the mother’s shop where the father beat him to death.

The mother of deceased rushed to police and reported a case of murder after which took action and arrested the suspect

Police took the body to Rwakabengo Health Centre III for postmortem as police investigate a murder case at Rukungiri Central Police station under reference number SD 43/03/06/2021.
