BUSHENYI DISTRICT SPEAKER DECLARED DICTATOR AS HE CHAIRS FIRST COUNCIL MEETING

Some councilors have referred to the district speaker Douglas Junior as a dictator after he ruled that they should first choose members of the committees instead of the chairmen which is against the law.

The district chairman Jaffari Bassajabalaba after a long discussion of 40 minutes advised that according to local government act, they should first choose chairmen before proceeding to members.

Rev. Lauben Mugarura the councilor for Kyabugimbi told www.mknewslink.com in a whisper that their speaker is turning into a dictator and they will not allow him to bulldoze them with dictatorial means.

Winne Mbyemire the councilor for Nyakabirizi moved towards the speaker many times and he threatened to suspend her but she never withdrew until the speaker put the matter on vote.

The speaker’s decision was rescinded and councilors decided that the chairmen be voted first.

Tempers of councilors including; Mugarura, Mbyemire, Kanyankore, Fish Banyanga fled high as the speaker tried to take a decision against the law.
