MAN STABS HIMSELF TO DEATH IN RUKUNGIRI

Police in Rukungiri have registered another suicide case of a  30 year old man.

The Kigezi police Regional spokesperson identified the deceased as Ivan Nasasira 30 years, casual laborer and resident of Kitumura Cell, Northern B ward, Eastern division, Rukungiri municipality  Rukungiri district.

It’s alleged that on the 20/08/2021 at around 06:30hrs at the above address, the deceased went and knocked at the father’s door who was identified as Tumusiime Gerisom 56 years, informing him of how he felt alot of headache.

Maate said that the father opened the door for him and the entire family begun prayers that ended at around 0730hrs after the deceased claimed he had gotten some relief.

Maate narrated that thereafter, the father went to the garden and left the deceased under the care of the mother  Annah Tumusiime  49yrs.

At around 1300hrs while still in the garden, Gerisom received information that the son had stabbed himself to death in the house of his brother one Evart that is under construction.

Gerisom a father to deceased said that he rushed to the scene from where he notified the area LC3 chairperson Mr Tumwesigye David 64 years who reported the incident to Rukungiri main police station.

Scene was visited by District CID officer and team, postmortem done at site and the body handed over to the relatives for burrial.

At the scene a sharp panga with blood stains was recovered, body had fresh multiple cuts caused by a sharp object. Inquiries ongoing to establish the likely cause.
