SHEEMA: 3 VETERANS ARRESTED FOR STEALING UGX 15 M EMYOOGA FUNDS

Police in Sheema district are holding three people for embezzling 15 million shillings from Emyooga funds.
The three are; Onan Mwijukye the Chairman Sheema North Veterans Association, one only identified as Johnson the Sacco Secretary and James Asiimwe the Sacco Treasurer.
The three were arrested yesterday on orders of Frank Besigye Kyerere the Sheema district Resident District Commissioner (RDC).
According to Benard Muhairwe the vice chairman Sheema North Veterans Association, the chairman Onan Mwijukye and his colleagues registered their wives as members of the Sacco though they are not Veterans.
Muhairwe said that as the SACCO’s top leadership, they first withdrew 12 million from the SACCO’s account in DFCU Ishaka Branch, then 11 million but were surprised when they found out that the 15 million shillings they had left on the account had gone missing mysteriously.
The RDC Frank Besigye Kyerere told journalists that the trio was arrested for questioning about the whereabouts of the said 15 million shillings.
