LDU CANDIDATE DIES AFTER RUNNING 2KMS IN MASINDI

In Masindi—

LDU candidate in Masindi yesterday collapsed and dies after running two kilometers.

Brig. Gen. James Frank Kyambande the head of recruiting team Bunyoro sub region identified the deceased as Stuart Abitegeka 29, a borne of Kisanja in Masindi Municipality.

Kyambande told www.mknewslink.com  reporter that Abitegeka died shortly after running two kilometers.

“It’s unfortunate we have lost him, we never expected this to happen. He died here at the playground after completing the exercise,” he said.

The head of recruitment team also added that medics tried to fight for his life but he unfortunately passed on in their hands.

Kyambande suspected that Abitegeka lost his life to heart problem, though they are waiting for postmortem results to ascertain the cause of his death.

By press time, the lifeless body of Abitegeka was lying at Masindi district general hospital pending postmortem.

The recruitment exercise which started on Wednesday ended yesterday. 454 males and 66 females totaling to 520 succeeded.

Kyambande said that they have achieved 90%, and they were supposed to get 641 candidates from Bunyoro.
