TIGHT SECURITY IN MBARARA AS STUDENTS’ DELEGATES CHOOSE UNSA LEADERS

There was heavy deployment of Security officers at Mayanja Memorial institute in Mbarara as students’ delegates of Uganda National Students Association (UNSA) from Western region convened to choose their 32nd UNSA Council.
The voting that started at around 09:00 am commenced with E-campaigns that were held at Kololo Senior Secondary School.
The voting was held virtually on four polling station countrywide; Mayanja Memorial institute in Mbarara city for Western region, Kololo Senior Secondary School for central region, and Minakulu Technical Institute for northern and Eastern region.
The western region the Returning Officer Sande Andrew told www.mknewslink.com that Western region was well represented with 123 delegates.
Speaking as the chief guest at E- campaigns of candidates at Kololo Senior Secondary School grounds Minister for Presidency Mary Babalanda who represented the fountain of honor urged students to be job creators so as to prosper and pledged full support to UNSA leadership.
The 2021, 32nd.UNSA elections were supposed to be held last year in November but due to Covid 19 pandemic the polls were pushed to today.
