3 ARRESTED OVER WOMAN’S MURDER IN RUKUNGIRI

Police in Rukungiri have three suspects in custody for allegedly murdering Annet Tukamuhebwa 40 years, a resident of Kagati Village Burama Parish, Bugangari sub county Rukungiri district.
Elly Maate the Kigezi Regional police spokesperson identified the suspects as Maxim Beinomugisha 25 years, Nicholas Karenzi 20 years and Fuderi Ahimbisibwe 38 years all residents of Kagati village.
It is alleged that the deceased was last seen on the 22/02/2022 at around 2100hrs drinking alcohol together with the suspects at Emily Kyasimire’s bar at Omukafunda trading center.
Maate said that from that night, she disappeared until 24/02/2022 at around 07:00hrs when the area Chairperson James Bagacwa mobilized for a search in the nearby bush and recovered the deceased’s body stuck in mud at Kanshekye stream along Ruhinda Bugangari sub county boarders.
He immediately informed the area police in charge who in turn notified Rukungiri CPS for further management.
Police were notified, scene was visited and processed by OC CID and team, postmortem was conducted at Rwakabengo Health Center III to ascertain the actual cause of the death.
The case of Murder has since been registered at Rukungiri Police station under reference number CRB 157/2022.
