IBANDA POLICE ARREST A 27 YEAR OLD MAN FOR IMPERSONATING UPDF SOLDIER

IN IBANDA—     

A man who has been masquerading as a UPDF soldier has been arrested by Ibanda police after he allegedly obtained money by false  pretence.
Ibanda district police commander SP Ochama Denis  yesterday  identified the suspect as Rodgers Muhairwe ,a resident of Kyaruhanaga ward in Kagongo division Ibanda Municipality.

He has been impersonating a  UPDF soldier  at the rank of Captain,  he claimed to have a project of helping youth to get jobs and but ended up taking their money.
It is alleged that  Muhairwe  has been calling himself a Captain in UPDF who is said to have been a link between job seekers from Ibanda district and Mbarara district  to join  a  company called   Alfa Dairy  based in Mbarara municipality and other companies in the country.
Talking to the suspect, he accepted that was   acting on the orders from above given by big people in the UPDF.  He asked an apology because he was  acting on   ignorance  of the victims to take their money but refused to tell whether he is a captain in UPDF.
Denis Ochama the DPC Ibanda has called upon the public to be vigilant saying that these acts are rampant in Ibanda district.

Mr. Ochama said that when the investigations are over , Rogers Muhairwe  will be produced in courts of law for trial on charges of  impersonation.
