48 YEAR OLD MURDERED IN KISORO
The Police in Kisoro district are actively hunting for an unknown assailant who murdered a 48-year-old-man.
Elly Maate, the Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson has identified the deceased as Ndiyunguye Richard a resident of Butaha village in Kitendere parish, Nyarusiza sub-county in Kisoro district who was killed by an unknown assailant.
Maate said that the incident was reported by Niringiye Edward 27, a boda boda rider and resident of Butaha village, kitendere parish, Nyarusiza sub-county in Kisoro district.
According to Maate, the deceased left his home on Thursday this week at about 08:30 am for work and was discovered dead on Friday in morning hours lying on the footpath about 100 meters away from his home.
He adds that the scene was visited and examined where a canine was used but with no positive results as the scene was tampered with and the body was taken to Kisoro hospital mortuary for post-mortem.
However, Maate revealed that Mbonigaba Robert was arrested to aid in inquiries as the wife of the deceased was alleging that he had threatened to kill the deceased a week back and the community had started attacking him.
The case of murder was registered at Kisoro central police under reference number CRB 427/2022.
