TWO KASHENYI SS STUDENTS TO ROT IN PRISON AS THEY ARE DENIED BAIL AGAIN

Rukungiri chief magistrate yesterday 7/9/2017 denied bail to two
students of Kashenyi senior secondary school and remanded them again.
The students are being charged with malicious damage on property as prosecution alleges that on July 31, 2017 while at Kashenyi secondary school,the accused burnt the school kitchen and a store.
Andrew Tugume and Dan Tushabe yesterday appeared before the chief
magistrate Julius Borore Kyaka who denied them bail after being
pinned by two witnesses.
Tugume Andrew and Tushabe Dan are being accused alongside other three students all of the senior 4, identified as Amon Akandwanaho
Clinton Akijuka and Collins Natwijuka.
Prosecution led by Geoffrey Oundo presented two witnesses in court
Ayebare a senior six student at the same school who told court
that he saw Tugume Andrew and Tushabe Dan with two bottles of petrol
in the evening of 31/7/2017 and asked him if the deputy head
teacher and warden were at school.
Teacher Boston who is also the warden told court that at around 9:00pm
he was alarmed by a student that there was fire at the kitchen and as he
rushed there he found the fire had gutted the two counters at
the kitchen where he discovered two plastic bottles containing
petrol.
Three students, Amon Akandwanaho, Clinton Akijuka and Collins Natwijuka were released on a bail cash bail of 200,000 shillings and 70 million not cash.
The case was adjourned to 21/9/2017.
