MASINDI:
The ministry of transport and works is set to rehabilitate roads and bridges in Bujenje Constituency Masindi district.
In an exclusive interview with our reporter, the State minister of transport and works, Fred Byamukama said the ministry will rehabilitate three bridges and roads in Bujenje constituency in this financial year.
‘’One of the bridges includes the historical Rwensororo bridge on river Kafu which connects Masindi district to Kyankwanzi where President Museveni crossed in the 1980’s to capture Masindi barracks,’’ he said.
Other bridges to be constructed include Kapeeka -Kasokwa and Ejinga which connect Masindi to Kigorobya all in Bujenje constituency.
The minister says it’s a presidential directive to construct the roads to improve service delivery to the people and therefore urged residents to embark on agriculture in order to benefit from the developments.
‘’Residents should embark on agriculture to fully utilise roads and bridges to be constructed and improve their household income,’’ he urged.
The Bujenje Constituency Member of Parliament Kenneth Kiiza Nyendwoha confirms the development saying that the ministry will embark on rehabilitating the roads and the three bridges mentioned above to improve on the service delivery in his constituency.
The politician said the development will enhance service delivery like Business, Education, and Health among others.
