25 YEAR OLD MURDERED IN KABALE

KABALE
Police in Kabale are hunting for suspects who allegedly assaulted a 25-year-old man to death.
The incident was Reported to Police by Enid Kyarugaba 56, a resident of Murambo village Buranga parish Kamuganguzi sub county, Kabale district who stated that her son Elijah Niwebyona of the same address was discovered murdered by unknown assailants at Rwakihirwa river, Rwakihirwa village on 12/08/2022 at around 2:00PM.
Elly Maate the Kigezi region Police spokesman says, on the 12/08/2022 at around 2;00PM, information was received by the officer in-charge of Kamuganguzi police station from the mother of the deceased that the body of her biological son, was found lying near Rwakihirwa river, a report of sudden death was registered and the body was taken by the said mother to her home for burial arrangements claiming that her son has been a drunkard and must have succumbed to alcohol abuse.
Maate explains that as residents were preparing for burial on Sunday morning, information was received that the deceased was assaulted for allegedly stealing a bicycle which prompted the uncle to the deceased one Rtd Lt. Tinka to report the same to Kabale police station.
A report of murder was register, scene was revisited, reconstructed, the body was found with a fresh cut on the right leg, bruises on the arms, chest, stomach and legs.
The body was retrieved from the home and taken to Kabale regional referral hospital mortuary for postmortem.
Maate says inquiries at hand to identify the suspects and have them arrested for prosecution.
