RUBANDA LCI CHAIRPERSON HAMMERS WIFE ON HEAD, RESIDENTS WANT HIM OUT OF OFFICE

Locals of Ntaranga cell Nyaruhanga Parish Ikumba Sub county Rubanda District have demanded for an immediate impeachment of their area LCI chairperson over Misconduct.

Their grievances comes after a scenario that took place on 25th September Sunday evening around 8pm when their chairman Naris Ahimbisibwe hammered his wife Stella Ainembabazi on the head before kicking her beans which were on fire.

Speaking in a village meeting which was held at Ikumba Sub County head Quarters, the angry residents said they are tired of the chairperson’s endless family fights.

They added that Naris had some time back bite off his wife’s ear accusing her of serving him a small piece of meat.

Anest Atuheire brother to Stella said his sister has been sleeping in the bush whenever the chairman would come drunk and that the family has carried out many meetings over the same issues but all in vain.

He called upon the police to intervene and arrest the chairperson.

Speaking to our reporter Ainembabazi Stella said she has experienced daily fights with the husband for the last 17years they have in marriage.

She attributed the fights to alcoholism saying that her Husband is a drunkard who spends all day in bars and after getting drunk goes home kicking everything and fighting everyone he comes across.

She added that the husband have been closing the food in his bed room and their children end up sleeping on empty stomach.
Fearing for her life, Ainembabazi vowed to divorce the husband before he is killed in cold blood since the husband uses machete whenever he is fighting.

The speaker of Ikumba Sub county Hon Immanuel Arinaitwe kabira vowed to bring the matter before the council on 30th September 2021 and see how to deal with arrogant chairman.

He further said that it’s so unfortunate that the chairman who should be guiding people and acting like an example to other men in the area, is the one fighting for food, hammering his wife and participating in daily family violence.

Our reporter tried to have a comment from the accused but all was in vain.
