NTUNGAMO DISTRICT COUNCILOR IN CELLS FOR DAMAGING GOV’T VEHICLE

Ntungamo police in conjunction with CIDs attached to State House Health Monitoring Unit arrested Dennis Muhumuza Savimbi the district Councillor representing Itojo Sub County in Ntungamo district council for abuse of office!
The Ntungamo district police commander Patience Baganzi-SP. Confirmed Councillor Savimbi’s arrest and said the suspect is inside their custody on allegations of using a hospital motor vehicle Registration .Number .UG 2071M without the hospital Administrator or CAO’s authorization, that later got into an accident and knocked the engine!
DPC Baganzi (SP) said Councilor Savimbi is facing two charges of Abuse of office and Malicious damage to government property.
According to the letter seen by our reporter, dated 3rd November 2022 to the right Hon Speaker Ntungamo District Local Government Twikirize Nicholas, Hon Denis Savimbi Muhumuza was invited to provide information for investigation by the state House Health Monitoring Unit currently operating from District Health offices office to report in person on 4th October 2022.
Recently, the state house health monitoring unit’s head of Criminal investigations department Karugaba Collins (D/SP), arrested David Ajuna the Itojo hospital Administrator for negligence of his duty and failing to control the hospital properties in which Councillor Savimbi illegally used the hospital motor vehicle!
The suspected councilor Muhumuza-Savimbi’s file is registered as Ref. HMU/DST/001/11/21.
Police said the suspect will be produced to the courts of law as investigations are complete.
