DRC RESIDENT KILLED AT BORDER OF UGANDA IN KISORO

Police in Kisoro are investigating circumstances under which an unidentified male adult a resident of Democratic Republic of Congo by origin, was lynched to death by mob justice after was found ready handed slaughtering an animal which he’s believed to have stolen.
ASP Elly Maate the kigezi region police spokesperson told our journalist that in the night of 05/02/2023 at around 10:00pm at the border village of Muko Nyarubuye parish Nyabwishenya sub county Kisoro District.
Elly said that a group of people were seen chasing the deceased from democratic republic of Congo and crossed the border into Uganda where they got him assaulted to death and later set on him fire and burnt beyond recognition.
He continued to say said that the area chairperson of Muko village David Surwumwe reported the case to police and after scene was visited and examined the body was taken to Kisoro hospital mortuary for postmortem while inquiries are still underway.
The police spokesperson noted that the case of murder by mob justice was registered at kisoro police station under reference number CRB096/2023.
