A Burial in Ntungamo district yesterday turned into a political war zone after the Ntungamo District Chairperson LCV Mr. Samuel Mucunguzi grabbed a microphone and started exchanging shameless words with former District Secretary of Finance Hon. Naboth Mpirirwe who is threatening to stand with him in 2026 general Elections
This political war zone happened at the burial ceremony of the mother to the Mayor Ntungamo Municipality Jacob Kafureeka aka Jack Jex, the late Federensi Kenohiri a resident of Kashasha cell Itojo parish Itojo sub county Ruhaama Ntungamo District.
Speaking to the mourners the District Chairperson LCV blasted the former Ntungamo District Secretary of Finance Hon. Naboth.
Saying that, he himself was behind his removal from holding the Finance ministerial seat for the district after his alleged embezzlement of funds and stealing money from Ntungamo district people.
Hon Naboth Mpirirwe was dropped from the Finance Secretary seat last year in August by the Chairperson LC V replacing him with Hon. Grace Twinomugisha, the female councillor from Kitwe Town council.
Mpirirwe was alleged to have extorted money from residents whom he was promising that he could secure jobs for them from the district.
It was also in the background that the applicants claimed to have given Mpirirwe between 3 to 5 million Shillings depending on the job applied for, all that Hon Naboth denied.
All these started escalating after Hon Naboth Mpirirwe opened up to stand on the district chairpersonship seat with Samuel Mucunguzi in the coming 2026 elections.
Ahead of talking on corruption surrounding the district that led to the state house anti-corruption Unit to dispatch its team in the district.
Samuel Mucunguzi said that the former finance secretary is a shameless man who should never be trusted by the people on any positions, the very words that left mourners wondering on the type of the Chairperson they have.
The former Ntungamo Municipality Legislator Hon. Karuhanga Gerald who is also a grandchild of the Deceased assured mourners that he will be available in the coming 2026-2031 in case Ntungamo Municipality residents needs him back to continue from where he had stopped from
