KASESE
The Kasese District Chairperson, Mr. Eliphaz Muhindi Bukombi has warned flood victims currently living in camps against being deceived by the opposition politicians that the government is not doing much to solve their problems.
Mr. Muhindi sounded the remarks on Tuesday evening while addressing the victims encamped at Buhunga Primary School in Ibanda – Kyanya Town Council where he had gone to deliver some relief items.
He explained that during the election period, some politicians create rumors about the government as a way of winning favor from the electorate.
According to him, the opposition politicians also start providing little things to the victims which can’t even sustain them for a long period of time.
He, however, told them to accept the little that such people bring to them but keeping it in mind that the ruling government was having a lot of plans for them.
He subsequently pledged to buy a solar panel for them so that it provides light during the night.
Mr. Sam Kule Mufunda, the Chairperson for Buhunga Primary School Camp said they were happy with the government for its quick response to floods and support given to them.
He also extended his appreciation to all the people and Nongovernmental Organizations for their kind heart towards supporting them with both food and non food items.
