KABALE DIOCESE ORDAINS 6 MISSIONARY PRIESTS

Hundreds of Christians on Sunday gathered at Our Lady of Good Shepherd Rushoroza Cathedral grounds of Kabale diocese in Kabale town to witness the ordination of six Missionary priests in a ceremony that was presided over by the Bishop of Kabale diocese, Rt Rev Callistus Rubaramira.
The newly ordained Priests They represent three congregations: Apostles of Jesus, Spiritan Fathers, and Montfort Missionaries they are Rev. Fr. Robert Mugabe from Maziba Parish, Rev.Fr. Christopher Niwagaba Buhara Parish, Rev. Fr Innocent Kanyesigye from Rushoroza Cathedral Parish of the Apostles of Jesus, Rev. Fr Philemon Byomuhangi Rubanda Parish, Rev. Fr. Anaklet Asingwire from Nyamirama Parish of the Spiritan Fathers and Rev. Fr Alex Muhwezi Karegyesa from Kishanje Parish of the Montfort Missionaries.
Bishop Rubaramira asked them to emulate Jesus Christ’s life by serving Christians and not waiting to be served, urging the new priests to reflect on the life of Jesus Christ by demonstrating love, humility, patience, and kindness while serving the Lord’s flock.
He emphasized that in all situations -whether characterized by joy, trials, or difficulties – a priest must consistently focus on God’s will and prayer to embody a spiritual lifestyle.
Bishop Rubaramira also stressed the importance for the newly ordained priests and deacons to grow daily in their relationship with God. He reminded them that their calling requires them to surrender and sacrifice themselves to fulfill the Lord’s requirements. He also highlighted the need for the Christian community to continue praying for the newly ordained in their journey of priesthood
Henry Musasizi the State Minister of Finance (General Duties) applauded the Catholic Church in Kigezi sub region for supplementing the government in various developmental interventions like Education, health, Agriculture.
Musasizi asked the newly ordained priests to preach the prosperity of unity and hard work like the NRM government led by President Kaguta Museveni has done and he also asked church leaders to serve both the spiritual and physical needs of the people by teaching them about work.
He also appealed to religious leaders to emphasize on promotion of the four sectors of the economy for income generation and increase employment opportunities.
It was attended by several MPs and local leaders from the Kigezi sub-region the included Wilfred Niwagaba the Shadow attorney General and Ndorwa East MP, Dr Nicholas Kamara the Kabale Municipality MP, Moses Kamuntu Mwongyera the Rubanda County West MP among others.
