MINISTER, MASINDI CHAIRMAN CLASH OVER AGE LIMIT

The state minister for Bunyoro affairs; Ernest Kiiza has clashed with Masindi district chairperson; Cosmas Byaruhanga over passing a resolution voting against the presidential age limit amendment.

The duo clashed during a consultative meeting organized by the Masindi municipality Member of Parliament also Bunyoro affairs minister,Ernest Kiiza at Masindi Booma grounds.

On Wednesday this week, Masindi district council passed a resolution rejecting the amendment of article 102b something which has left NRM leaders worried.

During the consultations, Kiiza accused the chairperson LCV Masindi district, Cosmas Byaruhanga, for spear heading the plot of passing the resolution.

He wandered how 16 district councilors could sit and decide on behalf of the district wandering where they got the mandate to decide for the district without doing any consultations.

Kiiza described Masindi district council as a traitor noting that they
are also following the opposition leaders who sabotaging President Yoweri Museveni.

Kiiza also accused them for being used saying that they did it because they were given money.

However, Byaruhanga defended himself saying that he was overwhelmed by the councilors noting that the matter was not on the order paper adding that it was just raised by the a councilor and seconded by the majority where he had no control.

He added that he never participated in the voting because he knew that the MPs are the ones to consult the people.

Byaruhanga added that the person who moved the motion mover should be investigated noting that he is one of the chief campaigners of Bunyoro affairs minister, Ernest Kiiza.

He added that the councilors also needed money from the MPs adding that if there is any arrangement the minister should organize and they push for the extra ordinary council if he wants to meet them.

The demonstrators being led by the minister for Bunyoro affairs also moved to Masindi the district headquarters to oppose what had been passed by the council.
