In Kabarole–
The Kabarole Deputy Chief Administrative Officer Mr. Malinga Alfred has revealed that acts of absenteeism and abscondment from duty are rampant thus hampering service delivery.
He says the attitude of staff at health centers and sub counties towards work and performance is very poor and cannot foster development.
Malinga explains that during his monitoring of sub counties and town councils to assess service delivery, he was shocked to find government workers were absent at sub counties and health centers.
The tough speaking Malinga says enough is enough and appealed to the district councilors to team up in supervising and monitoring sub counties and health centers for service delivery to improve.
Speaking during the district budget conference 2017-2018 at district headquarters Kitumba, the deputy CAO disclosed that they are in partnership with some NGOs to start monitoring government programs in lower local governments to ensure service delivery and improved house hold income.
His comments follow absenteeism of some heads of department in budget conference and yet they were supposed to present their annual work plans.
The Kabarole district Chairperson Mr. Richard Rwabuhinga warned Heads of Departments to desist from the cancer of absenteeism and vowed not to tolerate the vice for it hampers development.
