RUKUNGIRI SCHOOL DROP-OUTS BLAMED ON PARENTS

The inspector of schools in charge of special needs Rukungiri district
Peace Kembabazi has attributed increased early marriages of
school pupils to parents who force their daughters into early marriage as
away to get wealth thus increased school dropouts within the district.
“As the district education department we are worried about the rate
pupils are dropping out from the school especially within sub counties of
Nyakishenyi, Nyarushanje and Bwambara” Kembabazi narrated
She revealed this yesterday while presiding over the thanks giving and
celebrating of victory of PLE results of Aunt Jolly’s primary school the
function held at Bwanga church of Uganda in Nyarushanje
Sub County.
Kembabazi urged parents to avoid forcing their children into
early marriages if they need to develop their families and communities
in future.
She further encouraged pupils joining senior one to avoid drug abuse
like smoking marijuana, bad companies which will make them to drop out school hence being educational wastage.
“When most of the pupils join secondary schools, their behaviors
change because they join bad groups and end up smoking
marijuana”. She said.
