NTUNGAMO TO HOST WORLD WOMEN’S DAY PRAYER

As Ugandans prepare to commemorate the World Women’s Day next Thursday March 8th 2018 Christians are called upon to be prayerful since it’s the key to a successful Christian life.
The South Ankole Diocese mothers Union President Mama Lillian Ahimbisibwe says that Christians should collectively come out with a prayer strategy as the only way to mitigate the rampant habitual evil acts against women in the country.
Mama Lillian; a wife to South Ankole Diocesan Bishop Rt. Rev. Nathan Ahimbisibwe was speaking to the media today at St Mathews Cathedral Kyamate in Ntungamo Municipality ahead of tomorrow morning March 2rd 2018 the World Women’s Day of Prayer to be held at Kyamate play ground.
She strongly condemned the evil acts against women such as the recent killing of 28 year old Suzan Magara Atenyi, gang rape and defilement in the Districts of Wakiso, Kampala and other women have continuously suffered silently in various parts of the country saying that it is also against the will of God.
The World Women’s Day of Prayer is an international ecumenical Christian laywomen’s initiative celebrated annually in over 170 countries on the first Friday in March. The movement aims to bring together women of various races, cultures and traditions in a yearly common Day of Prayer, as well as in closer fellowship, understanding and action throughout the year.
The former Ntungamo Woman MP aspirant Joselyn Kamateneti Bata also urged all women to embrace the prayer day because it’s their day to celebrate the women’s achievements from the political to the social while calling for gender equality.
The Link secretary mothers Union South Ankole diocese who is also the Rugarama sub county Chief Birungi Shallon Muhangi hailed the diocese for organizing the women’s prayer which will be historical in Ntungamo district.
