Bushenyi health centre has today received free sanitation services courtesy of Bushenyi Parental Care Primary school pupils, under the umbrella of School, Water and Sanitation (SWAS) club.
Services extended sanitation services which included cleaning the compound, wards, and latrines and urinals which were not in good conditions hygienically.
Mr. Perez Basiime, the head teacher Bushenyi Parental primary school who also doubles as the patron SWAS club, told mknewslink.com that they have launched a sanitation week in which they target areas of great importance to the community.
Perez said that the campaign is set to create awareness among the public about the importance of promoting sanitation and hygiene and also to motivate other willing organizations and individual to also follow the same route.
He added that, the campaign will also help the pupils to develop the spirit of statesmanship and good future citizens.
Christabell Ninsiima, a senior nursing officer at Bushenyi Health centre, appreciated the work done by the pupils thus appealing to other schools and organizations to follow this example.
Bushenyi parental care primary school SWAS club are also set to extend the same services to Bushenyi Police station, Nyamushekyera prison, and Bushenyi town during their sanitation week.
