Police in Hoima district are holding a 50 year old man on allegations
of murdering his wife and secretly burying the body behind their home.
Patrick Kyaligonza, a resident of Kijonjomi village in Kapapi parish,
Kigorobya sub-county is accused of murdering his wife identified as
Tophus Kugonza 46, a primary school teacher at Kijonjomi primary
school.
Ezira Esiko, the criminal investigations officer at Hoima central
police station told mknewslink.com that the deceased went
missing from her home in Kigorobya on 9th April not until on Friday
this week when her body was discovered buried behind their house.
He said the deceased’s relatives had reported a case of missing
relative at Kigorobya police post on Thursday and decided to mount a
search on Friday only to discover the body buried.
Joshua Byangire, the Mayor Kigorobya town council has condemned the act saying it was first horrible act reported in the area.
Sources say that the suspect has for long been accusing his wife of
having love affairs with other men and had infected him with HIV/AIDs.
This is a second murder of such a nature in Hoima in less than four
months. In December last year, Gerald Kyakyahulire, a resident of
Kitorogya Buhanika sub-county murdered his wife and buried the body
before he later committed suicide.
