KASESE MAYOR IN TROUBLE OVER FAILURE TO PAY COUNCILORS

The Kasese Municipality Mayor His worship Godfrey Kabyanga has said he is not ready to involve himself in what he has described as cheap politicking by discussing Kasese Municipal Council Matters on street.
Kabyanga’s remarks comes after a press briefing held by some Councilors yesterday accusing his leadership of mismanaging council finances to a level that councilors’ allowances have gone into arrears of about sixty eight million shillings.
He said he has explained enough over the matter concerning delayed payment of councilors’ allowances and views any further discussion about the same matter as cheap politics.
The councilors led by the leader of opposition in Kasese Municipal Council Alfred Ikwera, youth representative Ospus Ezekiel and Herbert Bwambale councilor representing Rukoki ward Nyamwamba division are accusing Kabyanga’s executive of mismanaging road funds, council revenue collections and corruption tendencies among others.
