17 STUDENTS OF ST GERALD’S SS ARRESTED PLANNING TO ATTACK MAKOBORE HIGH SCHOOL. Friday June 15, 2018.

Police in Rukungiri have arrested and detained 17 students of St
Gerald’s SS Nyakibale in Rukungiri district for inciting violence and
planning to attack their neighbouring students of Makobore High School
Kinyasano.

The two schools have been rivals and students have been accusing each
other of attacks.
On Tuesday12th June 2018, St Gerald’s SS students petitioned the Resident District Commissioner Mr. Martin Mugabe against plans by Makobore to attack, and destroy their school property.

The Rukungiri police station O/c; ASP. Atukunda Edwin confirmed the
arrest to help in investigations. However, he did not disclose the
details of the suspects lest to jeopardize investigations.

He adds that the suspects were picked yesterday from the school by the
police and are now being detained at Rukungiri central police station
as investigations in to the matter are ongoing and after
investigations the suspects will be taken to courts of law.
He adds that police is still hunting students from Makobore high
school that have also involved in the fights.
