BUSHENYI COURT CONVICTS UPDF SOLDIER FOR ROBBERY

Grade one magistrate’s court in Bushenyi has today convicted and remanded a UPDF soldier on charges of simple robbery.

Court presided over by hisworship Mujuni Paul heard that 6^th September 2016KatsigareBenon a resident of Buhimba ,Kitwe,Kabugimbi and other five at large attacked KomushanaKellen while from burial and robbed her of her sh.170000 using actual violence.

According to the prosecutions side,Katsigaire dropped his identification documents during the attack which Komushana, the complainant took and reported to the police.

The convict pleaded not guilty to the offence saying his documents had been stolen by unknown person at the burial that same day.

He was convicted of simple robbery whose maximum sentence is 10 years, and remanded until 25^thJuly 2018 when he will appear before the same court to be sentenced.
