MAN USES HAMMER, HITS GRANDFATHER TO DEATH

Police in Ibanda are holding one man for allegedly killing his Grandfather accusing him of witch craft.

Tusiime Kuteesa 30 a resident of Kafunjo cell, Ibanda municipality is suspected to have hit his Grandfather Ediwarido Rwabwamba aged 104 years using a hammer killing him instantly on Sunday 29 July at around 11am.

The body of late Ediwarido Rwabwamba was laid to rest at his place in Kafunjo cell,Ibanda municipality yesterday.

Philimon Byasasaki, one of the deceased’s children told www.mknewslink.com that Kuteesa travelled on Bodaboda from Rwamanyonyi in Bufunda division a distance of about 3Km carrying a hammer in a bag and found his grandfather sitting room hit his Grandfather to death accusing the latter of cursing him to become impotent. Byasasaki added that the suspect had consulted the witch doctor that proved to him that he was cursed.

A report from health officials at Ruhoko health center 1V indicated that the late Rwabwamba’s skull was shuttered with deep wounds on head including broken ribs.

Addressing the mourners at Kafunjo cell, Rev. Fr. Leudius Tairo of St. Charles Lwanga Bubaare Catholic Center, noted that some youth have opted to drug abuse and end up visiting witchdoctors where they spend a lot of money thus killing innocent people.

Fr, Tairo revealed that Kafunjo cell is in the history record that  of smoking marijuana, marrying more than one wives, fighting in Bars while their children drop out of school and the youth in the area do not attend church services.

Meanwhile, the District Police Commander Rogers Cheben has confirmed that Kuteesa is in police cells waiting to be produced in courts of law on charges of murder.
