UN EMPLOYED YOUTH ATTACK RDC TUGURAGARA

A group of unemployed youth in Lyantonde District, have  stormed the office of the RDC, Sulaiman Tuguragara Matojo protesting the failure by a private company to send them abroad to work.

According to their leader Joseph Mukasa, the youth allegedly paid money to the managers of Six Star International, a private job placement firm, to secure jobs for them in Afghanistan to work as security guards, maids and cashiers in Afghanistan.

The stranded youth allege that they paid between Shs1 million and Shs2.5 million to the company to facilitate their visa applications among other travel requirements.

They accuse Matojo of protecting the proprietors of Six Star International to defraud them because one year later, he has not bothered to intervene.

The youth said they are seeking a refund of their money since the jobs are not available.

However, Matojo said he doesn’t know what is wrong with company directors because the youth paid the job placement money in November last year. He thus advised the youth to file a civil case against the company directors and promised to be a key witness.

“I have opted to report a civil suit before Lyantonde Grade One Magistrate and I am ready to be a key witness in the case,” Matojo said

Earlier, Ms Eva Birungi the company manager had said that the company got some problems and asked the affected youth to be calm, since arrangements are underway to facilitate their travel to Afghanistan.
