AUTHORITIES WORRIED ABOUT EBOLA OUTBREAK; ONE SUSPECTED VICTIM PUT IN ISOLATION

In a bid to prevent public from acquiring the Ebola virus, public has been urged to be conscious.
Dr. Magumba Eridad Salongo from the disease surveillance department from the ministry of Health has urged people from Kabarole and other neighboring districts to be conscious after the out beak of Ebola in the DRC Congo.
According to Dr. Eridad, Kabarole district is among the districts that are at risk of contracting Ebola disease where he said that there many Congolese that pass through Bundibugyo and Kasese coming to Fort Portal and Bukuku Sub County has the heist number of Congolese.
He said that one suspected Ebola victim in kasese has been put in the isolation room after he started showing some signs of Ebola and samples have been taken to kampala for checkup.
Ebola is a disease caused by eating affected animals like bats, monkeys and among other animals.
It is spread through direct contact with the body fluids such blood, saliva, faces, vomit, urine, sweat of a person infected with Ebola and direct physical contact with bodies of persons who died from Ebola.
Ebola can be prevented by avoiding direct contact with affected person, eating bats, monkeys, washing hands with soap, water and jik and proper hygiene.
A pesron with Ebola is identified with signs and symptoms like vomiting blood, blood from Mouth eyes, ears and high fever and among others.
Kemigabo Catherine the health educator Kabarole district has disclosed that Kabarole is ready to stop the disease from entering the district and carrying awareness trainings to all health workers and civic education to the public.
This was during the Ebola preparing meeting held at Fort portal regional referral hospital board room today.
