IBANDA RESIDENT TO GET FREE BOREHOLES

Residents from three cells of Nsasi ward, Ibanda municipality are slated to receive boreholes in a bid to solve the problem of water scarcity.
The LC 3 councilor for Nsasi ward, Mr. Godwin Muhumuza said the shs. 32 million borehole drilling project has been funded by Mariam Foundation, an NGO based in Austria after a baseline study carried out in Nsasi.
Muhumuza said the cells which will benefit include Rwobuziizi, Kikoni, Ruyonza plus some primary schools. He noted that Nsasi ward has been suffering from water scarcity and over 1000 people will benefit from the project.
“I understand the water challenges that local people and students are facing will be soon solved,” Muhumuza said.
He also called upon the LC officials, technical workers and head teachers to supervise this project and ensure that all local residents and students get value for the project.
He added that the project will save the life of expectant mothers, children and pupils from walking long journeys to draw water from manmade dams where they are sharing water with animals.
